What breaks under load

Most AI projects in operations-heavy businesses do not fail at the idea stage. They fail in the gap between a working pilot and a system the business can depend on. The failure modes are predictable.

• The integration was a demo. The pilot read from a spreadsheet export. Production has to read and write the WMS, the ERP, the TMS, and the carrier portals, with retries, rate limits, and partial failures.
• Nobody defined the exceptions. Ten percent of orders are strange. If the agent has no bounded behavior and no escalation path for them, staff stop trusting it after the first bad week.
• Cost and latency were never measured. A model call that costs a few cents is fine at a hundred a day and a budget problem at fifty thousand.
• There was no operator. The engineer who built the pilot moved on. When the model version changed, nobody knew what would break.
• Success was never baselined. Without a before number, there is no after number, and the project becomes a matter of opinion.

How we build for load

Our approach is designed around those failure modes. It is the same CRAFT methodology we use everywhere, applied with an operations lens.

• Assessment on the Workflow track maps the full order, shipment, or patient flow, inventories the systems and data, and measures a baseline before anything is built.
• Design covers the exception path first. Bounded tool access, escalation to a named person, and the automate-versus-augment decision for every step, in writing.
• Build is production architecture from the first release, with integrations, retries, evaluation harnesses, and cost and latency telemetry. Our engineers use Claude Code and the Claude Agent SDK, with MCP servers exposing your operational systems to the model safely.
• Verify means measured in production, against the baseline, over a real window. Speed without evidence is false confidence.
